Moonrakers v Jets B
With wind, some rain and sun, Moonrakers had a slow start to the game, but it soon picked up. Jets played brilliantly starting with 7 players then unfortunately due to injury ended up playing with only 6. There was some great defensive work and then good play up court. Moonrakers securing a win of 52-17. Match POM going to Jas and Player POM going to Lauren for the Moonrakers.
Moredon A v Nationwide A
Moredon A had a convincing win over Nationwide A this week, winning by 45-29. Moredon worked hard, battling against the blustery wind, which made conditions difficult for both teams. New player Paige was making her debut in the A team and got player of the match at Wing Defence, which was well deserved.
Moredon B v Nationwide C
Moredon B also had a good win against Nationwide C, winning 26-20, the low score reflecting the difficult conditions, which made shooting challenging. Both wins will keep the Moredon teams in the middle of the table.
Nationwide D v Croft D

Goal Shoot for Croft D
Nationwide’s D team played a stormer in miserable weather conditions and were flying high for their second win of the season. Last time the teams met, Nationwide D lost but were at a disadvantage having only 6 players. This time they had a full squad line-up including new to the team experienced player Louise Peacock at GA and GS and also player of the match.
Nationwide D team were leading from the outset and 5 goals ahead at Quarter 1. Croft D made some player changes for Q2 and came back strong to trail by only 2 goals at half time. Nationwide’s D team also made changes for the 2nd half and quickly regained the lead by 13 goals at Q3 and then continued to dominate the fourth quarter and complete their victory.
Lawn B v Fairford A
54 – 45
Hannah Simpson GA (Lawn) A highly contested match between Lawn B and Fairford A. Fairford took an early lead but not for long. After the first 5 minutes Lawn stayed in command of the game but Fairford kept fighting back to keep the deficit at a minimum. Lawn made several changes, managing to give equal court time to all nine of the squad. Lawn eventually came out on top.
Lawn C v Jets A 39 – 39
POM Phoebe Thompson C (Lawn) Playing with a team of only 7 players, Lawn knew they would have to pull on their energy reserves. Lawn were only 2 down going into the third quarter. Good defending from the whole team, throughout the court, Lawn was able to convert interceptions to goal and finish the quarter 2 up. However a couple of errors in the final quarter gave Jets the chance to cancel out the small lead, resulting in a draw.
Lawn D v Calne

POM Lawn D - Trinity Lango GA Lawn D took on top of the league Calne, in what was to be a fantastic game. Calne came out strong, Lawn were unable to match their play, causing them to fall by 9 in the first half. After some team changes Lawn came out in the second half with grit and determination. The girls dug deep with some fantastic play. Lawn gained their momentum in the 3rd quarter with some lovely attacking & defensive work on show. Superb interceptions by both Freya Williams and Ella Braithwaite helped to narrow the gap. This set up Lawn for the last quarter and with continued drive and some accurate shooting by Trinity Lango, Lawn turned the game around to win.
Lawn RL3 v TJs

POM RL3 - Steph Lowther C A well contested match, which saw Lawn stay ahead for the majority of the game but some tactical changes by TJs in the last 5 minutes pulled the match back to a draw. Lawn played some brilliant netball throughout the match with great work in both the defence and attack.
RWB A v Croft C
RWB A played Croft C in Division 3. RWB A worked hard to counterattack a strong, tall defence throughout the court from their opposition but along with that and accurate shooting RWB A secured a win of 48-21. Player of the match was awarded to GS Charly Giles for the Bassett A team.
RWB B v Burmah C
RWB B played Burmah C in Division 4. RWB B took an early lead in the first quarter. Their tight defensive play and accurate shooting saw RWB B win every quarter, finally winning the game 40-9. Jess Chandler GD was named player of the match for the Bassett B team.
RWB C v Raychem F
RWB C played Raychem F in Division 5 in mixed weather conditions (wind and icy rain). It was level after the first quarter but Bassett C went on to take the lead in the second quarter and some good mid court play saw them maintain the edge and win the match 37-31. Ellie Manning was named player of the match for Bassett.
