“This Girl Can…. Play Walking Netball” sessions to start at Dorcan Dome, Tuesday evenings from 19:00 – 20:00. The sessions are suitable for women who are 50+, or those that are 21+ and suffer from back, knee or ankle injuries.
The first three sessions will be held on Tuesday 18th & 25th August and 1st September, after which the sessions’ participation and success will be assessed. Please spread the word – contact your former netball peers, family, friends & work colleagues that would benefit from these sessions and encourage them to participate.
Please contact Mo Squires Maureen.Squires@gll.org if you would like to join.
Mo sent an e-mail to all of the clubs in Swindon asking for people’s input and ideas for developing netball in Swindon. I had been working as a project coordinator with Swindon Advocacy Movement (SAM), specifically aimed at developing community links and new skills for people with learning disabilities.
When I received Mo’s e-mail I had a proverbial ‘light bulb moment’! Would a learning disability netball team come under ‘netball development’ I wondered… I sent a reply to Mo suggesting this; to say the response was positive would be an understatement! We were both so excited about the idea and our first conversations cemented our commitment to the cause. CLICK HERE to download the full document
